ARTICLE 8 - FUNDS OF THE UNION

Section 1 - Expenditures

The funds of the Union can only be used for payment of per capita taxes, affiliation fees and office expenses and salaries for the functioning of the Union. No other expenditures of Union funds shall be made unless approved by a 2/3 majority of the General Executive Board. Expenditures in excess of $10,000.00 must be approved by the membership at the next Regional Meetings.

Section 2 - Donations

Requests for donations to another union or organization shall not be considered unless they are in writing signed by a qualified representative of the respective union or organization.

Section 3 - Signing Officers

All disbursements shall be paid by cheque. All cheques shall be signed by any two (2) of the four (4) following officers: Each signing Officer shall be bonded in an amount determined by the General Executive Board. The cost of the bond shall be paid by the Union.

Section 4 - Audit

The books of the Union shall be audited every twelve (12) months by a firm of chartered accountants.

Section 5 - Membership

A majority of the active membership may pass a resolution at any time to have the auditors audit the books and records of the Union.

Section 6 - Equipment

All office equipment shall be kept in the Union office. An inventory shall be kept of all administrative equipment and office furniture.
